Tracking the Infection and News Updates

COVID-19    is  spreading  across  Africa ,  making  deep  in-roads  into  Nigeria.    We  are  tracking  this  daily  and  how  it  is  spreading  in  IgboLand.    Due  to  lack  of  testing,  there  is  no  way  to  really  figure  out the  true  fallout.    As  of  May  17,  there  were  5621  cases  counting  for  176  deaths.    for  sure  these  reported  figures  are  well  under  what  the  real  situation  is.

Fund Raising

AHAF-USA  is  actively  driving  fundraising  efforts  to  support  activity  in  IgboLand.    Crowd  Funding  is  being  pursued  such  as  GoFundMe.    We  are  calling  on  all  Diaspora  and  friends  to  contribute.

Zinc is contained at appreciable levels in beef, chicken, beans, and cashews.  there are others, but not common in the Igbo diet.

Vitamin D

Strong Advice for all Igbo

Vitamin D

Vitamin  D  has  multiple  functions  in  the  body.    One  of  them  is  that  it  helps  regulate  certain  processes  including  the  pace  of  the  immune  system.    Covid  is  particularly  bad  because  it  causes  an  immune  system  storm  for  some  people  that  leads  tissue  inflammation  in  the  lungs  causing  pneumonia type  symptoms.
