Covid-19 and the Western African life has left financial destruction in its path for marginalized communities. Women with Children, especially widowed, are at the top of this target group. They can’t pay their bills. No insurance. No savings. Nothing. AHAF returns Hope to this otherwise hopeless situation.
The Surgical Fund pays the part of the bill, (frequently 100%), if a woman can’t afford her procedure. A common situation is when a mother (sometimes single or widowed) requires a surgery and is counting on a miracle to cover her costs. Many procedures, such as a tumor removal is only $90. The Most expensive procedure tops out at $500.
In a conversation with Dr. Opene, our Med-aCar Director, he mentioned some current patient’s financial worries and her embarrassing inability to cover the bill. The mother of two had been praying that God would somehow send money...
It was at that moment, I told Dr. Opene, “AHAF-USA needs to start a fund.“ Her prayers were answered.
